Observation notes: Observed this individual apparently defending territory. It perched somewhere until another butterfly flew by (blue, swallowtail, fritillary), then it promptly took off after each interloper. It would then swirl around them and chase them up or down or off the trail. It seemed to confine itself to about 15-20 feet of trail.
