Reakirt's Blue
Echinargus isola

Observation date: July 03, 2022

Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: Several blues formed a small "puddle club" on a rock in the mud of a depression within the Soledad Canyon Trail on the footslope of the Organ Mountains. The depression formed where an arroyo crossing occurs near the trailhead and filled with water from monsoon rainstorms (the water had evaporated). Also present were a few marine blues and a single acacia skipper. An assassin bug joined the group but had not attempted a capture to my knowledge. The day was hot, breezy, and sunny.
