Observation notes: There are millions of these caterpillars all over our property. They are constantly on my clothes, on my skin, on all wood surfaces. Yet to see them on plants. The weather has been warm and sunny. They seem to bite or sting. They are miniscule and are very hard to photograph.

Coordinator notes: Unfortunately, this is an early instar of the Spongy Moth (formerly known as the Gypsy Moth). It is an invasive species that is extremely aggressive and can defoliate large areas of woodlands. -jmgesell
