Observation notes: Sorry for the bad quality photos, they are screenshots from a video my friend sent me. It was sitting at the bottom of her patio door - ended up on her thumb then flew away. It's overcast today and was rainy earlier but hasn't been for a few hrs. Mostly I'm just curious about the pincers on its butt?? I've never seen a mother like that and searching online isn't coming up w anything. I only suggest sphinx moth bc it looks like species of those have similarly un-round wings and can raise their buttons, but again, I can't find anything with pincers
