Yucca Giant-Skipper
Megathymus yuccae

Observation date: June 04, 2014
Submitted by: Jonathan Batkin
Specimen type: Photograph
Observation notes: This location was formerly, and may still be, reliable for this species. I first had it here on 17 April, 2011. My sightings in three different years (last seen 2017) were all of solitary individuals.
Status: Resident
Verified by: stevecary
Verified date: November 15, 2021
Coordinator notes: 8000 ft is high, but not unheard of. I presume the presence of host yuccas is the range-determining factor for the skipper, and a dry south-facing slope would do it. thanks for getting this into the system!
